Fortunately, the United States Supreme Court ruling on June 27th, 2022 has made it more difficult for the DEA to prosecute health care workers for prescribing or dispensing controlled substances for legitimate medical purposes.
United States Supreme Court stated as follows:
“We normally would not view such dispensations as inherently illegitimate; we expect, and indeed usually want, doctors to prescribe the medications that their patients need,” Justice Stephen G. Breyer wrote for the US Supreme Court.
